Collecting items is one of the ways in Caveblazers to become stronger. Items are commonly found in Crates, Large chests, Orc chests, in Item or Random shrines from certain perks and enemies, bosses, and the item shop when the Blackjack Relic is active.

Most melee weapons can be upgraded to Super items by placing two of the same type on an altar to combine them.

Experimental Items[ | ]

Experimental items can only be aquired in Custom mode when the 'experimental items' option is enabled. This will cause experimental item capsules to spawn on every second level of the area. These capsules can only be broken open by blowing them up with a tile-breaking explosive such as bombs. Luckily these capsules spawn with a bomb next to or around them most of the time.

Experimental items can not be upgraded via any means.
